Dhiman Das, the great grandson of K.C.Das and the great great grandson of the legendary inventor of Rossogolla, Nobin Chandra Das officially joined his family business as a Director in April 1993 after completing the XIIth standard from Don Bosco School, Park Circus. However, he was directly involved in his family business venture since 1986 when he was just 14 years of age. Upon accomplishing Bachelor degree in Commerce from Calcutta University, he was entrusted with a critical role in his family business as an Executive Director of K.C.Das Private Ltd. in 1995. Along with the supervision and expansion of business, he had successfully completed his Advanced Diploma in Computer Applications integrated with Business Management in 1998. He had also undergone extensive training in Microbial Examinations of Milk and Dairy products at K.C.Das R&D Centre, Bangalore under the distinguished guidance of Dr. A.M.Natrajan (Ex-Division Head, NDRI Bangalore).

On his current role, he has been primarily involved in Sales and Marketing, Business Development, Public Relations etc. although he is well versed with almost all the facets of his business. He had travelled abroad to England, Germany, Switzerland and France on multiple occasions since the year 2000 with a view to expand his knowledge about global confectionery products and its marketing. His zest for business development, progressive mind and obstinacy to upkeep archaic family tradition has helped him to further vitalize the brand “K.C. Das” through innovation of varieties of delectable products, application of State of the Art Technology in the production units, emergence of new outlets in the last few years.

A major achievement of Dhiman had been in playing the pivotal role in co-ordinating with the Department of Science & Technology of Government of West Bengal and successfully securing the Geographical Indication Status of “Banglar Rasogolla.” His initiative and able guidance enabled Government of West Bengal to contemplate and announce November 14th as Rossogolla Dibos (Day) after Bengal had been awarded with GI (Geographical Indication) status for “Banglar Rasogolla” on this date in 2017. His physical disability since 2014 has never been an impediment to his tireless efforts and devotion in life towards the development of the Sweets and Savouries industry of Bengal on the whole. He had been a valued member of the Executive Committee of the Indian Dairy Association. He is also an Executive committee member of the all India recognized Federation of Sweets and Namkeen Manufacturers. He is the Founder President of the newly formed organization in August 2020 named “MISHTI UDYOG – Sweets and Savouries Entrepreneurs’ Association of Bengal” consisting of young and energetic sweets and savouries entrepreneurs.
